En los reportes las víctimas señalaron que varios policías se valieron de sus cargos y posición para intimidarlas y conducirlas mediante engaños.
La Fiscalía, en trabajo conjunto con el Gaula de la Policía Nacional, logró la captura de un oficial y cinco patrulleros que estarían involucrados en estos hechos.
Un fiscal de la Seccional Bogotá imputó a los detenidos el delito de secuestro extorsivo agravado en concurso homogéneo y sucesivo. El cargo no fue aceptado por los procesados, que deberán cumplir medida de aseguramiento de detención preventiva en establecimiento carcelario.
Los afectados con la decisión son el subteniente Cristian Roberto Soto Álvarez; y los patrulleros Juan Pablo Durán Rodríguez, Daniel Andrés Causil Sierra, Carlos Eduardo Quinayas Franco, Edwin Javier Montes Castro y Daniel Leonardo Sánchez Díaz.
