Entre los procesados está uno de los presuntos cabecillas de la estructura ilegal. Esta persona, al parecer, coordinaría las extorsiones y las retenciones ilegales desde la cárcel El Barne, en Cómbita.
El trabajo coordinado entre la Fiscalía General de la Nación y el Gaula de la Policía Nacional, posibilitó la judicialización de nueve presuntos integrantes de ‘Los Buscadores’, organización criminal responsable de múltiples hechos de violencia en Boyacá y Meta.
Los procesados, al parecer, aprovechaban los perfiles que en redes sociales publicaban ciudadanos que ofrecían servicios como acarreos, venta de alimentos o trabajos de ornamentación, entre otros.
Una vez en los lugares acordados, las víctimas eran desviadas de su recorrido y coartando su libertad portando armas de fuego y armas blancas, eran llevados a zonas despobladas y boscosas, donde eran retenidas y atadas; allí, contactaban a sus familiares para realizar las exigencias de altas sumas de dinero bajo las amenazas de muerte para lograr su liberación.
El posible responsable de coordinar los hechos delictivos y las exigencias de dinero sería Robinsón Mauricio Rodríguez, Alias Cachetes, que para la fecha de los hechos se encontraba privado de la libertad en la cárcel El Barne en Combita (Boyacá), por su participación en un atentado contra dos policías en Yopal (Casanare).
La Fiscalía tiene en su poder nueve denuncias que vincularían a los procesados con delitos cometidos en los municipios de Toquilla, Santa Rosa de Viterbo, Iza, Duitama, Chivatá (Boyacá) y en Granada (Meta).
Las capturas de los procesados se realizaron en Sogamoso y Tunja (Boyacá), Yopal (Casanare); y Flandes (Tolima). La Fiscalía les imputó según su participación, los delitos de concierto para delinquir agravado, secuestro extorsivo agravado, extorsión agravada y secuestro simple. Todos deberán cumplir las medidas privativas de la libertad.
Hechos denunciados:
- Uno de los eventos que está documentado en el proceso ocurrió el 21 de marzo de 2023. Un ciudadano fue contactado para realizar unos trabajos de ornamentación en Granada (Meta). Al llegar fue retenido y agredido físicamente. Por su libertad su familia pagó la suma de 12 millones de pesos.
- Otro caso similar se presentó en el Páramo La Chorrera del corregimiento de Toquilla (Boyacá) donde un hombre fue retenido luego de ser contactado para un falso acarreo. Por su libertad su familia pagó la suma de $8 millones de pesos.
