Un juez de control de garantías impuso medida de aseguramiento privativa de la libertad en centro carcelario a un hombre de 25 años, señalado de torturar, abusar sexualmente y causarle la muerte a su hijastro de 17 meses.
El 19 de enero del año en curso, el bebé ingresó en grave estado de salud al Hospital Jorge Eliecer Gaitán, en la localidad La Candelaria, en el centro de Bogotá. La abuela de la víctima indicó que la madre y el padrastro le entregaron al niño envuelto, y le aseguraron que había caído. Sin embargo, presentaba lesiones de gravedad y un cuadro clínico que no superó.
El Instituto de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses determinó que la causa de la muerte era maltrato infantil severo. Los exámenes realizados evidenciaron hematomas y heridas que no correspondían a una caída.
Con el dictamen, funcionarios del CTI profundizaron en lo ocurrido y obtuvieron evidencias que dan cuenta de la posible responsabilidad del padrastro. Al parecer, el hombre no soportaba que el menor de edad llorara, y una noche le propinó patadas indiscriminadamente, con el cable de un cargador de celular lo golpeó en diferentes partes del cuerpo, y le infringió dolor y sufrimiento físico de múltiples maneras.
Al sentir que había sido descubierto, el señalado agresor presuntamente contactó a una red criminal y escapó por el ‘Tapón del Darién’ hacia Panamá, por lo que Interpol emitió una notificación azul en su contra. Luego de tres meses de travesía por Centroamérica, se conoció que esta persona habría entrado irregularmente a Estados Unidos.
El trabajo de los investigadores del CTI, con apoyo de Migración Colombia y la Oficina de Investigaciones de Seguridad Nacional de Estados Unidos (HSI), permitió ubicarlo en Eagle Pass, en el estado de Texas, desde donde fue deportado.
A su llegada al aeropuerto El Dorado de Bogotá fue capturado. Un fiscal de la Seccional Bogotá lo presentó ante un juez de control de garantías y le imputó los delitos de homicidio agravado, acceso carnal violento agravado y tortura agravada. El procesado no aceptó los cargos y deberá cumplir medida de aseguramiento privativa de la libertad en centro carcelario.
