La Fiscalía General de la Nación, a través de la Seccional Bogotá, judicializó a Jaider Fernando Burbano Chaca como presunto responsable del hurto y posterior asesinato de un taxista, en hechos ocurridos el 20 de diciembre de 2021, en el occidente de Bogotá.
La víctima salió en horas de la noche a trabajar en inmediaciones de la Terminal de Transportes de Salitre y desapareció. Un día después al no tener noticias sobre su paradero, la familia reportó la situación. Las primeras actividades investigativas permitieron ubicar el vehículo en poder del hoy procesado, quien fue vinculado al proceso.
La recopilación de videos de cámaras de seguridad, testimonios y otros elementos materiales de prueba permitieron establecer que el taxista habría sido asaltado, asesinado y lanzado a un río por Burbano Chaca. El cuerpo fue encontrado nueve meses después del crimen en el Embalse del Muña, en un evidente estado de descomposición.
Luego de las valoraciones hechas por el Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses el señalado agresor fue capturado por la Policía Nacional en diligencia realizada en La Argentina (Huila).
La Fiscalía presentó al detenido ante un juez de control de garantías y le imputó los delitos de desaparición forzada agravada, homicidio agravado y hurto calificado agravado. El procesado no aceptó los cargos y deberá cumplir medida de aseguramiento privativa de la libertad en centro carcelario.
