El crimen ocurrió el pasado domingo, 14 de mayo. El procesado tiene en su contra dos condenas por el mismo delito.
La Fiscalía General de la Nación, a través de un fiscal de la Seccional Boyacá presentó ante un juez de control de garantías a Efraín Sarmiento Cuero, presuntamente responsable de haberle quitado la vida a su compañera sentimental el pasado domingo 14 de mayo.
Según la investigación, el procesado que actualmente está recluido en la cárcel El Barne de Combita (Boyacá), recibió a su compañera sentimental en lo que sería una visita conyugal, y luego la atacó con un arma cortopunzante.
En el momento en que los guardias se disponían a solicitar la salida de las personas que estaban de visita conyugal, Sarmiento Cuero salió del lugar y avisó que acababa de asesinar a su mujer. El personal del centro carcelario verificó y encontró el cuerpo sin vida de la joven.
El material probatorio recaudado permitió establecer que la víctima vendría siendo amenazada por Sarmiento Cuero, al parecer, por celos. Labores de policía judicial evidenciaron que el hombre le generaría marcas en el cuerpo, presuntamente, para evitar que ella interactuara con otros hombres.
También se determinó que la víctima se veía obligada a enviar fotos de los lugares en los que se encontraba, y sería conminada por el procesado para atender videollamadas como una manera de controlarla.
La Fiscalía imputó a Sarmiento Cuero el delito de feminicidio, cargo que fue aceptado.
Recorrido criminal:
En contra del procesado existen dos condenas, las dos por el feminicidio de sus compañeras sentimentales. Actualmente está pagando 34 años y 8 meses de prisión.
El primer hecho de violencia ocurrió el 3 de junio de 2020 en Pasto (Nariño); el segundo, sucedió en 4 de abril 2019 en Cali (Valle del Cauca).
Además, se adelanta una indagación con medida preventiva por el delito de acceso carnal violento. Este último hecho habría ocurrido en 2019.
