Los procesados se harían pasar por integrantes de grupos armados para apoderarse de fincas y exigir millonarias sumas de dinero para devolverlos.
El trabajo coordinado entre la Fiscalía General de la Nación, el Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación (CTI) Cundinamarca y los grupos GAULA de la Policía y el Ejército Nacional permitió capturar a cinco presuntos integrantes de la estructura criminal Los Palmares, presuntamente implicados en amenazas, extorsiones y desplazamientos forzados en Fusagasugá y Silvania (Cundinamarca).
Se trata de Vitelio Sotelo González, Silvano Varela Reyes, Fabio Bustos Santafé, Iván Arturo Mogollón y Carlos Rafael Reyes. Entre los detenidos estarían varios de los posibles cabecillas.
Información en poder de la Fiscalía evidencia que los procesados se harían pasar como miembros de grupos armados, para de esa manera apoderarse de fincas e inmuebles. Según se logró determinar, tras estas acciones los procesados enviaban mensajes amenazantes a las víctimas a quienes les exigirían sumas de hasta 1.000 millones de pesos so pena de despojarlos de los predios.
El ente investigador cuenta con información que indicaría que, ante las negativas frente al pago del dinero exigido, las víctimas recibían amenazas de muerte.
En desarrollo de diligencias de registro y allanamiento adelantas por las autoridades fueron incautados seis celulares y documentos que contendrían información relevante para la investigación. Además, fueron recuperadas cuatro fincas que habrían sido ocupadas de manera ilegal por los integrantes de Los Palmares.
La Fiscalía imputó a los procesados como posibles responsables de delitos como concierto para delinquir agravado; extorsión agravada en grado de tentativa; amenazas; desplazamiento forzado; invasión de tierras o edificios; fabricación, tráfico, porte o tenencia de armas de fuego, accesorios, partes o municiones.
Los procesados no se allanaron a los cargos y por decisión de un juez con función de garantías deberán permanecer privados de la libertad en un establecimiento carcelario.
